Exploring Yangon on Bicycle

Start the first day with great breakfast and then take a short way in car to come to another side of Yangon River for first trip of our cycling tour. It will be take about 5 hours by bike from Yangon, through Baung Daw Kya Snake Temple, to our last destination in Twante.

After about one and a haft hour, we reach the junction on the Dala-Twante Hi-way Road, and it signal to you that you will start an adventure from there. On the way, you will ride through the villages where locals live with rice fields, betel leaves, weaving bamboo and so on. There are some small trails with the green trees on one side and rice fields on other side. You will feel the peaceful and fresh atmosphere as in the rural area and maybe halt some houses for short break. After about one hour, we stop to visit Baung Daw Pagoda and Mid-water Pagoda, and have a short rest before ride through rice fields. On the way, there are some interesting thing which may attract you such as the Oh Pho, Sint Oh, or the kiln used in the 8th or 9th century to produce the Glazed Pots.

Reach Twante and view the Ceramics Factories, which are visited by a lot of people. They located in a certain part of the town so you are easy to reach and study how locals prepare materials and make best quality pots. After the walk, you will be transferred by car back to Yangon and relax.

Overnight in Yangon.

The second day in our tour, we start up with breakfast and prepare to be transferred on car to the town called Thanlyin or Syriam. On the way of about an hour, we have an overview of landscapes and other sightseeing in Yangon and cross the second longest bridge spans Yangon River after coming to our destination. Then, we have a trail of cycling whose route through some villages and towns in Yangon and explore the local life with their farming, handicrafts and daily activities.

Riding about one and a half hour, we reach a village named Thit See Yeik which located in the valley with many bamboo trees. Have a short break in here, and you maybe travel around, visit some houses and suggest owners for prepare a picnic lunch. A specialty is that some houses in the village are rented by Myanmar Cinema Producers to use as the model houses of villages in Myanmar, therefore, you have a chance to explore movie making process and others from the movie making groups.

Then, continue the tour by riding to KyaukTann town, which is famous for its mid-stream pagoda, a sacred place for pilgrims and visitors. You will be offered a light meal on the bank of KyaukTann River before come back to Yangon by car.
