Maulamyaing - Death Railway and overland drive to Dawei

Greeting Maulamyaing, visit Banana Mountain, travel around local brick factory, meet with humble locals, leave for Dawei, experience its architecture in museum and pagoda.
As breakfast served, we will soon head straight to Thanbyuzayet which is 34 km away from Maulamyaing and also the starting point of the Death Railway, connects Myanmar and Thailand together by the bridge over river Kwai. The bridge was built by a very talented Japanese during WWII. In 1943, the railway started and went on operation. There were more than 20,000 prisoner died constructing it. The farther we go, the narrower roads and the smaller villages become. On the way to Ye, we will make a turn to Banana Mountain overlooking the whole Ye valley. The tower at the top has its nine levels with different decorations in each level. As we arrive in Ye, we will take a break before visiting a local brick factory and learn the way bricks are made. The locals will show you how hard they work and willing to take photos Then we leave for Dawei, check in and refresh. Being well known as the capital of Tanintharyi Division, Dawei has the most long-lasting history and picturesque construction in colonial architecture. Overnight in Dawei.

Witness big industry of cashew nut, rubber, beetle and dried fish, enjoy beach time, catch stunning sunset.
Today, we will spend time on discovering Dawei’s daily activities and its famous sights. We will drop by a local family that runs cashew nut business and get help from them to peel one nut. Later on, we head straight to San Maria beach. Also, do not miss the chance to hit rubber, beetle plantations and fishing villages to see their big industry there. Next up, we enjoy lunch in front of Myawyik pagoda before swimming or wandering along the San Maria beach. On the way back, you will stop at a hot spring to wash salt off. And then reach to Maung Ma Gan beach for having relaxing time, enjoying sunset and standard dinner. Overnight in Dawei.

Overland to the fishing town Myeik

Visit the Shin Mok Hti pagoda, drive through rural villages, visit power plant, stroll around villages, take ferry to Myeik, and come over Myeik goods habour.
Seeing off Dawei, we soon reach to Shin Mok Hti pagoda, and then going through many rural villages on the way, you will reach to come across humble and friendly local people. You will put steps to power plant in Palaw. Take your time wandering around one of those villages. Cruising along on an old ferry to meet Myeik with wonderful photos taken on the way. You soon will visit Myeik goods habour and greet Myeik by late afternoon. Overnight in Myeik.

In Myeik, you will be able to take a wonderful tour right away, traveling around many attractive places such as colonial architecture, wooden boat wharf and dried fish market. Especially, the biggest fishing town will give you information of fishing industry and people’s daily life there. Afternoon is time for you to cruise to Pahtaw Island and witness the reclining Buddha. Then it will be a perfect time for a sunset enjoyment before having a standard dinner. Overnight in Myeik.

Tanintharyi town – Day trip

Travel to Tanintharyi, witness long-leg house, visit pagoda, come across beetle nut and palm oil plantations.
Today, you have a great trip to cruise and travel around Tanintharyi town. There will be a lot of small fish farms and tiny villages to be seen and reached on the water way. Greeting Tanintharyi, you will start to discover this ancient town, from an old wooden long leg house to the pagoda out-looking to the whole town. Later on, you drive back to Myeik. On the way back, you can come across beetle nut and palm oil plantations to see how people there make a living day by day. Overnight in Myeik.

Visit Myeik main market, shopping, fly to Kawthaung, explore Pyi Taw aye Pagoda, drive to Victoria point, take awesome photos, stop at 5-5-5 mountain, catch the sunset.
Take your time wandering around Myeik’s main market for souvenir shopping before you head to Kawthaung. Land in Kawthaung, you will get ready to explore Pyi Taw aye pagoda before driving to Victoria point and listen to its history. Next up, you should leave for a nearby long wooden bridge to take great photos. 5-5-5 Mountain will be our last stop of the day, offering the stunning view of sunset that will absolutely attract your eyes. Overnight in Kawthaung.
