Welcome to Yangon, the former capital city of Myanmar. You will receive a warm greeting form our guide and driver at your hotel then start the tour.
It can be said that Yangon is one of the must-visit places in Myanmar. Actually, Yangon's infrastructure is undeveloped compared to those of other major cities in Southeast Asia, but it has the largest number of colonial buildings in the region today. No sooner do you put your step in the area than you will be fascinated by the lush green park, picturesque lakes, and the charming people.
Firstly, you take a glimpse the post office, a British colonial, red-brick building on Strand Road. It is likely that the post office is one of the symbols of Myanmar. Then, we walk to Sule Pagoda in the heart of Yangon city. The golden pagoda is unusual in that its octagonal shape continues right up to the bell and inverted bowl. Passing by Strand Hotel, you move to Mahabandola Garden which is well known for its rose garden. Inside the gardens is the Independence Monument, built to signify Myanmar's independence. The garden offers a great view of the City Hall, and colonial buildings of the British Rangoon. The Bogyoke Market will be your last stop in the morning. Here, you can find everything from common products like clothing and food to luxury goods like gems. Do not miss an opportunity to buy some beautiful handicrafts for family and friends.
In the afternoon, we take a look to Chaukhtatgyi Temple which has one of the biggest and most graceful Reclining Buddha statues in South East Asia. Leave the Temple, we head to a local tea shop for a chance to experience drinking-tea art of the Burmese. It is an ideal place for friends and families gathering to socialize or conduct business.
To continue, our tour guide assures to take you to Kandawagyi Park, a popular recreation centre of the capital of Yangon. Being here, you can find a variety of beautiful flowers, the natural scene of the lake water and large shady trees. There are also an orchid garden, the children play-ground, Mini zoo, the souvenir shop, and restaurants. The beauty of Karaweik hall also shows a unique work of art to be explored in the heart of Kandawgyi Lake. You are also taken to Kandawgyi if time is permitted.
It is likely that Shwedagon Pagoda is your last stop for a full day of sightseeing Yangon city. Gleaming in gold and decorated with diamonds, the huge Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon is a spectacular work of Burmese temple architecture and is the holiest Buddhist shrine in Myanmar. Let's enjoy the breathtaking view of the golden stupa.
