In the morning, you will be warmly welcomed at the hotel and be transferred to the Irrawaddy River jetty for a boat trip down the Irrawaddy to the western banks of the river to kick off our tour on open-air jeep.
First of all, we will move to Myitche, a typical Irrawaddy River village with many cottage industries. During the journey, we'll drop by a morning market to find everything from fresh goods to handicrafts. Interestingly, tourists passing through easily find that their arrival takes the vendors by surprise. Also, we can find many delicious specialties there, especially the local snacks. In the small proximity lies a small village where we can see the rattan (or cane) housewares woven by locals.
Next, we go on our trip to Pakkoku, just 40 kilometer away. The journey is made on flat and mostly on sealed tarmac. In the meantime, tourists can witness many large trees lining the road with very few cars, sometimes cyclists, motorbike or ox cart. Surprisingly, the road is lined with endless fields of tobacco, cotton, chili and peanuts due to extreme fertility. It is up to the time tourists may stand a chance of locals sowing, harvesting or processing the crops.
We'll say hello to Pakkoku by midday to have lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, we take a short break before sailing back down the Irrawaddy River (about 2 hours). Now, Put your feet up, ease your mind and enjoy this scenic stretch of the river
We finally arrive in Bagan mid-afternoon before you will be brought back to your hotel.
